Tal Nitzán

Tal Nitzán is an award-winning Israeli poet, novelist, human rights activist and a major translator of Hispanic literature, living in Tel Aviv. She has published seven poetry collections, two novels and six children books. A dozen selections of her poetry were published in several languages, including German. For her translations she won numerous awards, among them the Culture Minister Creation Prize for translators (twice) and an honorary medal from Chile’s president for her translation of Pablo Neruda. Besides, Nitzán is a founding editor at the online literary magazine The Garage. With the kind support of the German Federal Foreign Office, she was a house guest at the LCB in July 2017.

Tal Nitzán, geboren in Jaffa, lebte in Buenos Aires, Bogotá und New York. Sie ist preisgekrönte Lyrikerin, Schriftstellerin, Herausgeberin und Übersetzerin; ihre Gedichte wurden in zahlreiche Sprachen übertragen. Im Verlagshaus Berlin ist ihr Gedichtband »Zu Deiner Frage« erschienen. Ferner ist Nitzán Redakteurin an der von ihr mitgegründeten Online-Literaturzeitschrift The Garage. Mit freundlicher Unterstützung des Auswärtigen Amts war sie im Juli 2017 zu Gast im LCB.
