Shamin Chibba has been working for the past 15 years as a journalist, short story writer, poet and content writer for agencies, which includes three years as an editor at Avatar Agency and as a speech writer for the Minister of Tourism and CEO of South African Tourism. Shamin has written in numerous formats: long-form features for Al Jazeera Magazine, adaptations of classic tales for graphic novels and plays. His short story “The Year of Failure” was published in the first ever pan-African anthology of young adult fiction “Water Birds on the Lakeshore”. His most recent success came on stage, when his play “The Soccerites” was selected and performed in Johannesburg for the Writers Lab Reading Festival in November 2019.
