Iryna Herasimovich

Iryna Herasimovich wurde 1978 in Minsk geboren. Sie schloss ihr Studium an der Staatlichen Linguistischen Universität Minsk ab, unterrichtete Deutsch u. a. an der Belarussischen Staatlichen Pädagogischen Maxim-Tank-Universität und war als wissenschaftliche Mitarbeiterin am Institut für Germanistik tätig, wo sie Projekte in den Bereichen Erwachsenenbildung, interkulturelle Kommunikation und Literatur leitete. 2008-2009 war sie Stipendiatin der Robert Bosch Stiftung als Kulturmanagerin aus Ost- und Mitteleuropa und arbeitete im Dresdner Literaturbüro des Erich-Kästner-Museums. Seit 2009 ist sie freiberufliche Kuratorin und Übersetzerin. Iryna Herasimovich hat Werke deutschsprachiger Autor·innen wie Lukas Bärfuss, Georg Büchner, Monika Rinck, Marica Bodrožić, Nora Gomringer, Mehdi Moradpour und Franz Kafka u.v.a. ins Belarussische übersetzt. 2016 war sie im LCB zu Gast durch ein „Schritte-Stipendium“ der S. Fischer Stiftung. Sie hat dreimal die Belarussisch-Deutsche ViceVersa-Übersetzerwerkstatt geleitet. Im Januar 2021 erschien im Digital Essay Point of No Return – Stimmen aus Belarus ihr Text »Vom weißen Fleck und Schwarzen Loch und den vielen Schattierungen dazwischen«.

She graduated from the Minsk State Linguistic University, taught German among others at the Maxim Tank Belarusian State Pedagogical University, and worked as a researcher at the Institute for German Studies, where she managed projects in the field of adult education, intercultural communication and literature. In 2008-2009, she was a scholarship holder at the Robert Bosch Foundation as a culture manager from Eastern and Central Europe and worked at the Dresden Office for Literature at the Erich Kästner Museum. Since 2009 she has been a freelance curator and translator. Iryna Herasimovich has translated into the Belarusian language the works of German-speaking authors such as Lukas Bärfuss, Georg Büchner, Monika Rinck, Marica Bodrožić, Nora Gomringer, Mehdi Moradpour and Franz Kafka, among many others. In 2016, she was a guest at LCB with a scholarship from the S. Fischer Foundation.
