Gaea Schoeters is a Flemish writer born in 1976. She studied journalism and screenplay, and also works as a librettist and journalist. In 2012, she won the Grote Prijs Jan Wauters for her creative use of language. She has published numerous novels, essays and theatre texts, and wrote the libretti for several operas of the composer Annelies van Parys, which were premiered at the Deutsche Oper and the Staatsoper Berlin, among others. Her new novel “Trofee” will be published in autumn 2020.

Die flämische Schriftstellerin Gaea Schoeters wurde 1976 geboren, studierte Journalismus und Drehbuch und arbeitet heute als Autorin, Librettistin und Journalistin. 2012 gewann sie den Grote Prijs Jan Wauters für ihren kreativen Umgang mit Sprache. Sie veröffentlichte zahlreiche Romane, Essays und Theatertexte. Für die Komponistin Annelies van Parys schrieb sie die Libretti für mehrere Opern, die unter anderem an der Deutschen Oper und der Staatsoper Berlin uraufgeführt wurden. Ihr neuer Roman »Trofee« wird im Herbst 2020 erscheinen. Im Januar 2017 war sie Hausgast im LCB.
