Nazli Karabiyikoglu, born in 1986 in Ankara, studied Turkish language and literature at Boğaziçi Üniversitesi in Istanbul. The author and LGBTIQ* activist has published four story collections and one novel and co-founded the #MeToo movement in the Turkish publishing industry. Due to political and gender repression in her home country, she now lives in Germany. She also drew attention of USA literary scene with her last novel »Elfiye«in term of queer writing and she is selected as a scholar of Master of Human Rights program at Friedrich Alexander University. She is currently a PEN Writers-in-Exile fellow.
Nazli Karabiyikoglu, geboren 1986 in Ankara, studierte Türkische Sprache und Literatur an der Boğaziçi Üniversitesi in Istanbul. Die Autorin und LGBTIQ*-Aktivistin veröffentlichte vier Erzählbände und einen Roman und war Mitbegründerin der #MeToo-Bewegung in der türkischen Verlagsbranche. Aufgrund von politischen und geschlechtsspezifischen Repressionen in ihrem Heimatland lebt sie mittlerweile in Deutschland. Mit ihrem jüngsten Roman »Elfiye« erregte sie auch in der Literaturszene Amerikas im Bereich Queer Writing Aufmerksamkeitund wurde für das Masterprogramm Human Rights an der Friedrich-Alexander-Universität Erlangen–Nürnberg ausgewählt. Derzeit ist sie Writers-in-Exile-Stipendiatin des PEN.
