An evening celebrating the release of the new Edition Le Monde diplomatique focusing on migration, with literary perspectives on the topic from authors Hanadi Zarka and Sicong Zou.

Edition N° 38 le monde diplomatique
Syrian poet, journalist and writer Hanadi Zarka has published in Arabic. Her poems have been translated into French, German, Dutch, English, and Danish. Since the beginning of the protests in Syria in 2011, she has worked on a voluntary basis with Syrian internally displaced persons, especially women and children. Zarka has been living and working in the German capital since December 2022.
Sicong Zou is an independent Sinophone writer and journalist based in Europe since 2021, focusing on diasporic and postcolonial writing, autoethnography, and transnational politics. Previously an editor for Initium Media in Hong Kong, he now explores themes of migration and exile through his work.
The event is a collaboration between the German edition of the international newspaper Le Monde diplomatique and our in-house blog LCB diplomatique, where accompanying texts by the authors will be published.
