Natalka Sniadanko was born in 1973 in Lviv (Ukraine). She is a freelance author, translator and journalist. She translated works by German and Polish-speaking authors such as Franz Kafka, Günter Grass and Zbigniew Herbert into Ukranian and writes texts for Deutsche Welle, Neue Zürcher Zeitung and New York Times, among others. Since 2009, she works at the editorial office of the Polish-German-Ukrainian literary magazine RADAR. Her ten prose books have been published in Poland, Russia, Belarus, the Czech Republic, Germany, Austria, Switzerland and the USA. Snyadanko was awarded with the Paul Celan Scholarship for Translators from the Institute for Human Sciences in Vienna in 2017 and the Translators Award of the Austrian Federal Ministry of Education, Arts and Culture in 2016.
Natalka Sniadanko, geboren 1973 in Lwiw (Ukraine), ist freie Autorin, Übersetzerin und Publizistin. Sie übersetzte Werke von deutsch- und polnischsprachigen Autoren wie Franz Kafka, Günter Grass und Zbigniew Herbert ins Ukranische und veröffentliche Texte in Medien wie der Deutschen Welle, der Neuen Zürcher Zeitung und der New York Times. Seit 2009 ist sie in der Redaktion der polnisch-deutsch-ukrainischen Literaturzeitschrift RADAR tätig. Ihre zehn Prosabücher wurden in Polen, Russland, Weissrusland, Tschechien, Deutschland, Österreich, in der Schweiz und in den USA veröffentlicht. Snyadanko erhielt u.a. das Paul Celan Stipendium für Übersetzerinnen und Übersetzer des Instituts für die Wissenschaften vom Menschen in Wien im Jahr 2017 und den Übersetzerpreis des österreichischen Bundesministeriums für Unterricht, Kunst und Kultur im Jahr 2016. 2006 und 2016 war sie Hausgast im LCB.
