Aleksandar Zograf

Saša Rakezić aka Aleksandar Zograf lives in Pančevo (across the Danube from the Serbian capital Belgrade). His comics were published in many countries, including US, UK, Italy, France, Portugal, Spain, Japan, Germany and Greece. Zograf’s work cuts to the heart of life in former Yugoslavia. In 1999, his “Bulletins from Serbia” appeared, containing e-mails and cartoon strips created during the NATO bombings. This book has been translated into several languages. Zograf’s latest collection of comics is titled “Partisanenpost”, published by Bahoe Books in Vienna. Since 2003, he has worked on weekly comics for an independent magazine from Belgrade, called Vreme. Zograf appears as a main narrator and researcher in a documentary/live action/animation hybrid, titled “The Final Adventure of Kaktus Kid” (directed by Đorđe Marković).

Saša Rakezić alias Aleksandar Zograf lebt in Pančevo (auf der anderen Donauseite gegenüber der serbischen Hauptstadt Belgrad). Seine Comics wurden in vielen Ländern veröffentlicht (USA, Großbritannien, Italien, Frankreich, Portugal, Spanien, Japan, Deutschland, Griechenland u.a.). Zografs Arbeiten zeigen den Kern des Lebens im ehemaligen Jugoslawien. 1999 erschienen seine »Bulletins from Serbia« mit E-Mails und Comicstrips aus der Zeit der NATO-Bombardierung. Das Buch wurde in mehrere Sprachen übersetzt. Zografs neueste Comicsammlung trägt den Titel »Partisanenpost«, erschienen bei Bahoe Books in Wien. Seit 2003 zeichnet er wöchentlich Comics für »Vreme«, ein Independent-Magazin aus Belgrad. Und Zograf erzählt und recherchiert im Dokumentar-/Real-/Animationsfilm »The Final Adventure of Kaktus Kid« (Regie: Đorđe Marković).
